David Schlageter say it all

From Energy Pulse:
I am a utility engineer and work at nuke, coal, and wind farms. People must realize that renewable energy sources only supplement the electric grid with intermittent power that rarely matches the daily electrical demands.

In order for an electrical system to remain stable, it must have large generators running 24/7 to create voltage stability. Wind and solar generation are not on-line when needed to meet energy demand and therefore help to decrease system losses. - David Schlageter
