Charles Julian Barton, Sr.
My father passed into a coma yesterday, and died at 1:40 AM EST this morning. He lived his life well. He lived with courage and moral vision. He died still looking forward to life, but accepting that it was not forever. It was a gift to those of us who loved him that he was with us for so long.

My condolences.
Charles, I rejoice in his release from a full and well-lived life. His work and contributions will be a great value for generations to come.
Please post his funeral information as it becomes available. I would very much like to attend.
Charles
My condolences. Sounds like he lived a rich and full life.
Rob
I'm so sorry for your loss. His legacy will live on in his invaluable contributions to safe clean energy for all the world's people.
My condolences as well Charles.
Charles,
You have used this blog to celebrate your father's life and I, for one, have enjoyed reading it. My condolences to you and yours.
Charles, my heart goes out to you and your family. Your work is a testimony to his legacy, your raising a family is a continuity with this being....

My condolences to you and your family. May your father's memory inspire others in the continuation of his life's work.
Oh crap, that really sucks. I know words on a blog have little real oomph, but for what it's worth, my condolences.
I feel like a heel now for my congratulations on your father being up and about in your 'Update on my father' post.
ab, thank you. My father's health had declined during the last few months of his life. He was during the last few weeks of his life sleeping most of the time. Gew of us get to have parents who are as long lived, so while I am personally saddened by my father's death, I also rejoyce in his life.
Charles,
Ditto what the others have said. You have honored your father in an extraordinary way. May we all have such a great life as he.
