Would you happen to know how much was spent on the Fluid Fuel reactor research at Oak Ridge? I could then say something like, "In 2010 dollars where were X dollars of US funded research into fluid fuel reactors." I'm betting it is north of 10 billion but I don't have the first clue how to figure it out.

Martin, certainly under $1 billion 2010 dollars, and perhaps some where in the neighborhood of $700 Million. In Contrast about $25 billion have been spent on Liquid Metal Fast Reactoirs in the United States alone, and many more billion in France, Russia, India, Japan, The United Kingdom and other countries.
